Video Review:     AMERASIANS

Cinema Guild release
Running time 52 mins.

A torn photo, maybe a letter or two, or maybe just a memory of an American Soldier that was around for a while.
This is the only memory some amerasians have of their fathers.  If they have these things, they are considered to be very lucky.  They can at least prove that they are what they are. This proof has the potential to get them back to the United States.  Back to the United States, where they might get a chance to meet their father.  Most probably not.

But for most Ameraisans, There was only the fact that they were outcast from their society.  They looked different.  Maybe their hair was a little lighter, their Eyes a little rounder,  or maybe their skin was a little darker.  It all served to ostracize them and make their life a living hell.

It has been estimated that the nine year presence of the American GI in Vietnam produced upwards of 100,000 Amerasians.

This great Video shows the plight of the Amerasians, their search for their heritage, and their plea to be considered normal.

Simply put, one of the best hour videos I've ever seen.

Makes 'Ya think!!
